The Sidu River Bridge(Chinese:四渡河大桥) is part of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway (National Highway G50) and the first mountain suspension bridge in China.
The Sidu River Bridge is located in Yesanguan Town, Badong County, Yichang City, Hubei Province, China. The bridge area is located in the hinterland of the fold mountainous area in southwestern Hubei.
The bridge deck is a two-way four-lane highway with a design speed of 80 km / h.
The total investment is US $100 million ( ¥618 million yuan).

Design Parameters
The slope of the two banks of the Sidu River Bridge is 70 degrees to 90 degrees, and the height difference from the valley bottom to the bridge deck is 560 meters;
The bridge has a total length of 1100 meters and a span of (900 + 5 × 40) meters. The main bridge is 900 meters long, the approach bridge is 5 × 40 meters long, and the net width of the bridge deck is 24.5 meters.
The main truss has a height of 6.5 meters, a truss width of 26.0 meters, a small internode length of 6.4 meters, and a large internode length of 12.8 meters;
The longitudinal spacing of the steel longitudinal beams is 1.95 meters, the beam height is 0.66 meters, and the beam length is 6.36 meters.

The prefabricated board is 6.36 meters long, 1.65 meters wide and 0.16 meters thick.
The Yichang shore tower is 117.6 meters high, the Enshi shore tower is 122.2 meters high, the tower column cross bridge is 5.6 meters wide, the along bridge is 7.6 to 10 meters wide, and the tower column wall thickness is 0.8 to 1 meter.
The platform size of the platform is 16mx16m, the thickness is 6.0m, and the height of the tower on the platform is 3.0m. The theoretical main span of the main cable is 900 meters, and the theoretical vertical span ratio is 1:10.
The main cable contains 127 diameter 5.1 steel wires per share, for a total of 16,129 steel wires. The ultimate strength of the steel wire is 1860 MPa.
architectural design
Sidu River Bridge is mainly composed of main bridge, main beam system, approach bridge, cross-strait bridge tower, cable system, anchorage and their interchange ramps. The main bridge section is arranged from west to east.
Structural features
Main bridge
The main bridge is an extra large single-span double-hinge steel truss girder suspension bridge.
Approach bridge
The approach bridge adopts T-beams which are simply supported first and then rigid frame, and the left and right half bridges are designed separately.

Main beam
The stiffened steel truss of this bridge is composed of main truss beams, upper and lower horizontal joints, and horizontal truss. The main truss adopts Warren type, and the upper and lower flat joints adopt K-shaped system;
The bridge deck is composed of longitudinal I-beam and concrete bridge deck;
Main tower
The height of the upper column of the two bridge towers is quite different; the Yichang shore bridge tower is provided with two upper and lower beams. Enshi Anqiao Tower is equipped with upper, middle and lower beams.
Cable
The main cable adopts prefabricated parallel steel wire strands, which are composed of galvanized steel bridge steel wires, and are vertically arranged into a pointed hexagon;
The sling adopts high-strength toxic parallel steel wire bundle and is covered with PE layer for protection
Anchor
Yichang shore adopts tunnel anchors, which are divided into left and right sides, of which the top of the front anchor surface is arc-shaped;
Enshi Bank adopts gravity anchor, the lower part of the anchor is excavated in a zigzag shape, and the bottom pit is reinforced.

Construction process
- On August 20, 2004, the Sidu River Bridge started construction.
- On July 31, 2006, the Sidu River Bridge completed the engineering of cable towers, foundation piles, bearing platforms, and tower blocks on both sides.
- On August 31, 2006, the main cable installation project was completed.
- On October 9, 2006, the rocket threw the pilot cable.

- On July 15, 2007, the Siduhe Bridge completed the construction of two main cables and carried out the installation of the main cables.
- On September 11, 2008, the steel truss girder of the bridge was hoisted for the closing project.
- On October 24, 2008, the Sidu River Bridge completed the Helong project, and the bridge was fully connected.
- On November 15, 2009, the Sidu River Bridge opened to traffic.
- On March 15, 2015, the Sidu River Bridge was completed and accepted.
Architectural significance
Rocket technology
“Long-span suspension bridge pilot cable rocket throwing technology”, the first time to introduce rocket technology into the suspension bridge pilot cable construction.
Combining military technology and bridge construction technology has created a new method for the construction of the main cable pilot cable of suspension bridges, which is safe, economical and reliable.

Sidu River Bridge is a large-scale and difficult mountain bridge project in China. It will promote the progress of large-span bridge technology in China’s mountain areas and the development of mountain highways.
At the same time, the bridge accelerates local transportation and economic development and improves the quality of life of the people.
Equipment and facilities
Lighting
The Siduhe Bridge is equipped with long pole street lights, LED night lights and other lighting facilities on the deck and cables to facilitate the traffic at night.

Sightseeing
As of October 2018, the Siduhe Bridge has obtained a construction permit for the construction of a tourist channel;
The Siduhe Bridge Sightseeing Channel is located under the bridge and is divided into the sightseeing channel, the upper and lower stairs, and the east coast anchorage area landscape platform. It is the core part of the first phase of the Gaoqiao Canyon Scenic Spot in the Yesanguan International Tourism Resort.
The scenic spot has such projects as crossing the Sidu River Bridge, extreme sports bungee jumping, high-altitude stunt performances, and canyon water promenade.

operation status
Fare ticket system.
On November 15, 2009, the Sidu River Bridge opened to traffic, and the entire bridge section will be charged according to the toll standard of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway (China National Expressway G50).
